Ode to Humanity

Weep not for you are unforgotten
Put down you all your burden
Though the waves have all but destroyed us
The time will come someday
When Hope and Remembrance are here to stay

I cannot say anymore than I could have said, but let us remember those who died and cherish those who didn't.

ODE TO MY BLOG

Hark!
Deadlines are a-coming
My editors are a-chasing
As for my articles...
They are merely particles
Of dust that need a-sweeping

Yes, a lame start to my rant, I'm sure but heck my juices (creative or otherwise, hehe!) are running low. I make no excuses for the following update I'm about to unleash~ :D

First off, is my trip to Singapore. Basically it's a dead long story to re-enact, since it happened about a month ago. So what I'm about to do is to summarise it. Here goes:

One word.

Wow.

Singapore is as cool as I imagined. Much more so since I have not had high expectations of it at all. One forumer in www.katoots.com once commented Singapore is "...land of the kiasu, home to the rude." Hah, I could say the same for Malaysia too but I just didn't.

THE FOOD
Hey!!! Singaporean food is not bad at all! What surprised me was, their food is way more affordable than ours. Even in food court centres at the local mall, it's averagely priced at SGD3.50 or so. You can't even see this happening in our malls, it's be RM4.50+ or above! Food sold in the morning market are also SGD2 or so, And I must say, most stuff tasted good! I can't imagine why people warned me against eating their dried wantan mee. It's excellent! All I did was imagine that it was something foreign. Hoho. Besides that, their local food is excellent! The Mee Punggol (something like our mee mamak) is to die for. *Drools at memory* Sigh~

THE PLACES OF INTEREST
Well I didn't really get to shop a lot, but Singapore is a shopping haven! Don't even let me get started on toys. Man, Clarke Quay is excellent! It's like a more active and happening Central Market @ Pasar Seni in KL. Loads of people there, although the MRT station was virtually empty that particular Sunday. I also love how more stuff are available there, be it toys (which I brought back a car load of), food, clothes and etc. Dunky's dad bought home a Palm that's not even available in Malaysia, and it's QUAD-BAND! Other than the malls, I've not had a chance to visit the Night Safari. Kinda sad...

THE TRANSPORTATION
Three words. Mass. Rail. Transit! Another word. Excellent. Please, I don't want to degrade our LRT system anymore by heaping countless praise on their own system. Enough said.

THE CULTURE
While everything seems fine and dandy, I do notice that their way of life is way faster than our lackadaisical one. Elavators move so much faster! I don't know if I want to live there after all... That's the slacker in me speaking its own mind. *Wink*

All in all, I spend a small fortune on toys and ended up getting stopped by the customs. I also don't want to get started on that but let's just say, things got settled the 'usual way'. *Rolls eyes*

Will update more soon to please my non-existent fans. *Wink*
